Out With the Cold, In With the Warmth
By: Hadiza Mshelia
Gone are the days of attempting to not slip on ice while walking to class, wearing a big puffer jacket with gloves, and scarves all while trying to brave the harsh colds. Here are the days where we can dress lighter and embrace the warmth of spring fashion! It’s time to swap out those heavy layers for breezy fabrics, pastel colors, and stylish accessories that celebrate the season. Here are some of my favorite pieces to start off spring!
Overalls
These are perfect to wear with a fitted tee, tank top, tube top, or a not too baggy sweater. You can have one strap on and let the other one hang loose to give it that carefree vibe or just have both of them on if you aren’t feeling it. It is so versatile, too; you can dress it up or down depending on what your vibe is for the day. No matter how you choose to style it, overalls can effortlessly look cool depending on how you rock them!

Sundresses
If you want to wear a cute outfit out to the city with your friends or just walk to class with your headphones in tow, these are the go-to for the perfect combination of style and comfort on the go! If you want that cute and casual look, I’d go for sneakers. If you want to take it up a notch, I would recommend a pair of cute cowboy boots or some heels. With sundresses, you can either make it a more laid-back feel with Converse or Sambas, or for more of a formal/date night outfit, you can pair it with high heels or sandals.

Oversized Tees
Who doesn’t love a comfy t-shirt? I totally love the many kinds of shirts you can wear and dress any way possible! Some of my favorite kinds include sports jerseys, band tees or just some basic staples in my closet. My go-to for pants to wear would have to be either jorts (jean shorts) or baggy jeans if you want that slouchy cool look. At the end of the day, no matter how you style it, you can definitely make an oversized t-shirt work just by expressing your style!

Charm Necklaces
Oh, let’s not forget about the jewelry! As someone who usually sticks to my Tiffany necklace I had gotten around half a decade ago for my birthday, it would seem like a big change to wear any other necklace. Lately, these charm necklaces have caught my eye for sure! There has been something so beautiful about letting your inner personality shine through cute little charms alone. For example, I can add vibrant colors to just plain gold charms. With these, it’s a unique narrative translated into jewelry and this can make even the simplest looks more out there!
