The term coastal grandmother, coined by Tik Tok influencer Lex Nicoleta, describes someone who enjoys the aesthetic of “Nancy Meyers movies, coastal vibes, recipes and cooking, Ina Garten, cozy interiors, and more.”
To paint a picture — a coastal grandmother wears a white button-down in summer while she tends to the blue hydrangeas in her large garden. On her head, a chic straw hat. She hosts dinner parties for her closest friends with fresh produce and homemade cocktails.
Life, for a coastal grandmother, is essentially a perpetual carefree summer.
"[The coastal grandmother aesthetic] is really just focusing on romanticizing your life and cultivating little moments of happiness — reading on your patio or cooking in your kitchen or making your morning coffee," Nicoleta explained. "It's really in the details."
